The Healing Clinic – April’s Practitioner of the Month

I am now concentrating all my consultations at The Healing Clinic in York.

I offer herbal medicine tailored to your health balance needs. I do this by an in depth consultation with you where we piece together the strands of your health story, including mental, emotional, social and environmental factors as well as the physical. From the pattern which emerges, I assess the root cause of your ill health and make up a herbal medicine specific to you at that time, alleviating your symptoms but also helping you towards a new balance.

Many health conditions respond to herbal treatment in this way. Herbs are particularly good for digestive and blood circulatory problems as well as stubborn long-term skin and joint problems which involve faulty metabolism.

The key to regaining your vitality with herbs could be

  • establishing proper elimination and healthier tissues
  • improving digestion and assimilation of nutrients
  • releasing tension or toning you up
  • improving your response to stress
  • equalising your circulation to moderate your temperature
  • rebuilding your foundation energy

or all of these!

Typically, you will be given a liquid herbal preparation (tincture) to take which contains a number of herbs in a blend unique to you.

Or I may give you a tailor-made herbal tea.

You may need creams, ointments, powders or capsules.

All of my herbal medicine preparations are from whole plants, sustainably produced and organic where possible. They contain no additives apart from natural preservatives in the creams

Trained in the 1980s by The School of Herbal Medicine/Phytotherapy, I use traditional holistic principles and conventional biomedical clinical knowledge in my assessment.

I keep current in my practice by teaching a BSc in Herbal Medicine at Lincoln College.

You can watch a video here about my practice.
